Sensor Tap
ESTHETACORP ZZX
April 2018

ZZX is a kitchen tap with the ability to measure specific quantities, and use a motion sensor to automatically dispense water. These work together to enable rapid and seamless operation. Users can use the tapx in a variety of ways - to set a specific, limited quantity for multiple hand washes; to set a repeatable cup size for kettle filling; to measure specific quantities for recipes such as rice or noodles; or to fill the basin while they go away to do other tasks.
While the design is inclusive to all, visually and from a user perspective, It has been primarily developed with less able users in mind. Restrictions in upper body mobility can come from many sources: age, stroke recovery or amputation being significant causes. In only requiring the user to activate the tap with a single motion, ZZX removes a significant amount of difficulty.
ZZX effortlessly combines new features with the familiar operation principles of existing taps. It uses a internal cartridge design similar in production method and in detail to current taps, with the addition of an electronic controller operating a separate outlet. This design concept defines a new tap design which, while of minimal disturbance to established and reliable technical paradigms, generates a revolution in user experience.
